Building a local circular economy together
Fost Plus is developing a circular economy for household packaging in Belgium. But we are not doing so alone. We cooperate intensively with public and private partners for the collection, sorting and recycling: intermunicipal companies for household waste, collection companies, sorting centres and recycling partners. Together we provide a sustainable solution for every packaging put on the market.
Investing in a local circular economy
The household packaging that we collect from the Belgian public is recycled to produce new raw materials here in Belgium as much as possible. At the moment, this applies for almost 80% of the household packaging waste in Belgium. That percentage is set to increase over the coming years. Thanks to our investments, recycling can develop into a sustainable economic activity in this country, creating new jobs.
In search of sustainable and innovative solutions
Our members – all Belgian companies that bring packaged products onto the market – have set themselves ambitious recycling goals. In doing so, they go further than the national and European legislation. Their ultimate ambition is to offer a sustainable recycling solution for all packaging that is put on the Belgian market. So we are specifically on the lookout for companies and partners that can offer innovative and sustainable solutions, including for waste flows that are still difficult to recycle at the moment.
