Environmental Barometer
The voice of the consumer
The Fost Plus Environmental Barometer investigates shifts in Belgian consumer attitudes towards environmental issues and behavioural trends in dealing with waste, packaging, new concepts and sustainable consumption. For this purpose, a total of 1,000 Belgians were surveyed by the research agency Ipsos between June and September 2024. This quantitative research was supplemented with six focus groups (qualitative research).

The results of the Environmental Barometer show a growing interest among consumers for sustainable packaging. If we want to translate that interest into a change in practical behaviour, we need to offer the right incentives, make sustainable choices less complex, and emphasise how consumers can make a difference as individuals.
